MTBers Welcome at CIBMX

One thing that we are trying to do with the new indoor track is open other cycling communities up to the sport of BMX racing. Given this, we have an open invitation to the vibrant CO MTB community to come out and race with us. As a point of reference, the MTB racing format that most closely resembles BMX racing would be 4X. We will be holding MTB "Open" races as well as BMX cruiser (24" + wheel size) races that MTBers can compete in. We have arranged with the major BMX racing sanctioning body, the American Bicycle Association (ABA) to allow MTB racers to practice and race on a free, one day ABA membership (practice/race fees would be extra) which is normally $45.00. If you are a MTBer that is jonesin' for a place to ride this winter, we invite you to join us for a great race series. We know that the CO MTB scene is very active and anything that you could do to help get this message out to the MTB community would be greatly appreciated.

See you at the races!!!

New race gate is ready for this weekend!!!

Over the last few weeks a great group has been working on the starting gate for the CIBMX track. Well, it is finally complete and ready to go for the races this weekend! Big thanks to Shoe, Sid, Rob, Darrell and the folks at Boulder Marine.

Carbo load at the 1st CIBMX Potluck

To kick off the first race series right, CIBMX will be hosting an Italian style potluck dinner after the first race on Saturday, January 2nd. The track will provide plates, napkins and utensils and there is already a growing list of items that racers and their families will be bringing to eat. If you would like to bring something to the potluck, there is a "bringing to the potluck" discussion thread at www. thebmxdirt.com or you can use the contact form of this site to let us know what you will bring. We look forward to seeing everyone this Saturday and can't wait to kick off the 2010 race season with a bang! See you there!!!

Colorado Pro Deak Brown Confirms CIBMX Clinic Series

Colorado Pro and all-around great guy, Deak Brown (and special guests) will be holding rider clinics on Saturdays, after the races. A new twist to the clinic format is that Deak plans to break the racers into two groups. A novice/intermediate group and an expert group. The novice/intermediate group will work on gates, handling the track/obstacles and racing fundamentals. The expert group will work on advanced race drills and strategies. The cost is only $20 per rider for two hours of training. Whether you're a new racer or an expert looking to step up your game, you will definitely learn something from this clinic series.

The wait is OVER!

We have quit biting nails and counting dollars. Thanks to the generous support of the Colorado BMX/cycling community and some amazing sponsors, the Colorado Indoor BMX track IS a reality. While we haven't completely hit our goal of $6k, we have raised enough money to comfortably begin the series in January and February. Thank you to all that have contributed time, money and effort into realizing an indoor track for CO. It is going to be a blast and we have plans for much fun, good times and great racing. Again, we can't thank those that have helped with this enough. The old saying, "We couldn't have done it without you." has never been more true. Thanks to all for the incredible effort!!!

Sponsors coming together nicely!!!

We can't provide details just yet, but the sponsors for the CIBMX track are really looking good. I have to hand it to the CO cycling community. They really stepped up and approached some key sponsors. Look for a complete sponsor list in the coming weeks. Thanks to all that have contributed!!!
